Children’s Dance Classes
A fun and creative dance/movement class for all toddlers, boy or girl, aged 20 months to 4.5 years. This is their first introduction to dance and drama through story telling, props and songs with action. A fun packed class for parent and child, using a variety of music from Disney tunes and nursery rhymes to all the latest pop songs. Visit the Tappy Toes website, or check out our video in the gallery.
All children receive a Tappy Toes sticker at the end of their class.
This class is suitable for children aged between 3 and 5 years old. It is a 30 min class teaching all the basic ballet movements; skipping, galloping, turning, plies etc. It is an imaginative, confidence building class using both classical music, nursery rhymes and Disney tunes. Children should bring a doll or teddy to class with them. Parents do not come into the studio.
All children are awarded stickers or token medals at the end of class for participating.
Ballet / Modern & Tap Combination
If you do not want to take your child to dance classes 3 times a week, we have the perfect solution. Our combination classes offer the best of both worlds. 3 disciplines of dance means there is something for every child. We follow the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) syllabus which gives the student the opportunity to take exams if they wish. (For the Primary Classes children will need a percussion instrument, a wand, and should bring a snack and a drink with them).
Children are all given a sticker chart when they join the class and will get a sticker for each week that they attend. Once they have filled up their sticker chart they are rewarded with a small ‘dance’ prize!
An energetic and funky class, dancing to all the latest pop tunes. Less technical than the combination classes, and there are no exams. The emphasis is on having fun, and tiring your child out for you! The class consists of a warm-up, some travelling steps and a new dance routine every couple of weeks. Extremely popular classes, so make sure you book early!
There are two trophies awarded in the Funky Jazz classes each week for the most improved and the hardest working child. This is a great incentive for the children to improve, and we make sure that each child wins at least once during the term, so no one is discouraged.
Adult Dance Classes
“Our adult classes are designed as a ‘dance work out’, so if the gym is not for you, this is the perfect alternative. A great way to tone up legs, bums and tums, in a real friendly and positive environment! “
Mini Performing Arts
This is a miniature version of the Performing Arts course for children aged 4 to 6 years. This is the perfect course for building confidence and encouraging creativity, whilst also getting some great exercise! They will learn dance, drama and singing in one fun packed class.
Street Dance and Hip-Hop
Similar to the Funky jazz, but for older children (from 10 years). Street dance is a funky style of dance that you would see on MTV, or in music videos. We do a strengthening warm-up, and then concentrate on a routine to the latest R&B or pop track.
This course is a three hour session incorporating all three of the Performing Arts disciplines, Drama, Singing and Musical Theatre Dance. The emphasis of this course is to provide as many opportunities to perform as possible, this includes various theatrical events, festivals, and end of term demonstrations. Termly workshops, with industry professionals are included as part of the course, from West End Performers to Casting Directors, and film and television actors. Students will be actively encouraged to attend auditions for professional work. Current students can be seen in Oliver in the West End, Nuzzle and Scratch on CBeebies, the Watford Palace Pantomimes and several TV adverts, including the Olympic Mascot advert!
(Students should bring a snack and a drink with them.)
LAMDA Drama Classes & Private Singing Lessons
Build your confidence whilst learning to act for both theatre and film or television. Your child will learn to project his/her voice, improvisation techniques, script reading and so on through a series of drama games and vocal excersizes. A fun and inspiring drama class! All whilst working towards LAMDA exams which can count towards UCAS points.
Private Singing Lessons
The best way to build up a repetoire of songs and strengthen your voice ready for auditions is to have a private singing lesson. Please call for details. (There is a waiting list for private lessons so please let us know if you would like to be added to it.)
