Did You Know?

At RISE Studios Dance and Performing Arts, we have so much to celebrate at the moment! We just had our second group of LAMDA students pass their LAMDA exams from Grade 3 to 6 with 12 Distinctions and 8 Merits, we have a 100% success rate for dance exams since we opened in 2006 with the majority of dancers gaining Merits and Distinctions, we are celebrating 11 years in the business and we have lots of exciting opportunities coming up for our young performers over the next 12 months.

Coming from a performance background myself, having trained at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, Surrey, I know how important it is to get the right training if you want to work in the performance industry. That’s why the teachers at RISE all have a background in performance as well as being highly qualified teachers (Keep an eye on our Facebook page every Tuesday for our Meet the Teachers feature where you can ask them questions and hear answers to some of the questions we asked them!). Students attending our classes have a real opportunity to excel in all aspects of the performing arts. We offer all classes needed to become a ‘triple threat’ in the world of Dance and Performing Arts.

RISE Studios Successes

Our students have gone on to train at the following vocational colleges over the last 5 years:

Laine Theatre Arts– Luke Meredith

Arts Educational– Eleni Savva and Imogen Till

The Urdang Academy- Leah Brown

Guidlford School of Acting– Adam Wilson

Stage Works Studios- Jemma Scott

Hull University (Drama Degree)– Emma Tooze

Other successes include Jade Collins, who after training with us for many years is now head of dance for a secondary school, Emma Tooze who after gaining her Drama degree has gone on to work as a Stage manager in the West End, The National and Regents Park!

Current students have also been accepted into West End Kids, Spirit Young Performers Company and Tring Park Associates, and a number of our Performing Arts students are represented by West End Agency- Becky Barrett Management

Students on our Performing Arts course have a number of opportunities to perform throughout the year at various different events. We have won the group improvisation at the Watford Drama Festival for 3 consecutive years, and a number of our solo performers achieve Distinctions and Special Merits for their performances each year.

Our dancers perform with celebrities in the Easter Panto Tours with Enchanted Productions every year and of course we put on a show every other year at the Watford Colosseum or the Watford Palace Theatre, so our students get used to performing in professional venues.
