It is a 30 min class teaching all the basic ballet movements; skipping, galloping, turning, plies etc. It is an imaginative, confidence building class using both classical music, nursery rhymes and Disney tunes. Children should bring a doll or teddy to class with them. Parents do not come into the studio.

All children are awarded stickers or token medals at the end of class for participating.

Jazz & Tap Dance Classes

If you do not want to take your child to dance classes several times a week, we have the perfect solution. Our combination classes offer two disciplines in one. The class is a free work class, meaning the children will learn a warm-up, some travelling steps and then a short routine each week. Rather than following a strict syllabus, this class is fresh and exciting, learning new routines each week to a variety of music.

Children are all given a sticker chart when they join the class and will get a sticker for each week that they attend. Once they have filled up their sticker chart they are rewarded with a small ‘dance’ prize!

Mini and Junior Street

An energetic and funky class, dancing to all the latest pop tunes.  The emphasis is on having fun, and tiring your child out for you! The class consists of a warm-up, some travelling steps and a new funky street dance routine every couple of weeks. Extremely popular classes, so make sure you book early!

All children are given a sticker chart and are awarded a sticker at the end of each class for their hard work. Once they have filled up their sticker chart they can hand it in to their teacher for a dance prize!

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a genre of dance performance that developed during the mid-twentieth century. It is a mix of classical, modern, and jazz styles and has since come to incorporate elements from many styles of dance. Due to its technical similarities, it is often perceived to be closely related to modern dance, ballet, and other classical concert dance styles.

In terms of the focus of its technique, contemporary dance tends to combine the strong but controlled legwork of ballet with modern that stresses on torso. It also employs contract-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation characteristics of modern dance. Unpredictable changes in rhythm, speed, and direction are often used, as well. Additionally, contemporary dance sometimes incorporates elements of non-western dance cultures, such as elements from African dance including bent knees, or movements from the Japanese contemporary dance, Butoh.
